Rescheduled Trade Shows in the United States
Most of the shows that were rescheduled from March and April to later dates in May and June have been cancelled. Honestly, it often feels like: “What’s the point of maintaining an accurate directory of trade shows if events are not able to start again?”. We, like everyone else in the industry, must constantly remind ourselves that this crisis will end.
And when the travel bans do begin to lift, corporate trade show exhibitors and potential trade show attendees will need an accurate resource to find the marketing opportunities that do exist. This list will include smaller, regional events planned in much shorter time frames.
What would the impact be if all companies that benefit from the trade show industry rallied behind one reliable directory to promote meetings and exhibitions? What if Hyatt Hotels, FedEx and American Airlines sponsored the trade show directories for the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, New York Times and other business websites? What if Freeman, GES and every other contractor promoted all trade exhibitions in the entire country instead of just their events? Instead of saying “that will never work,” ask yourself how would that help my job, my company, my industry and our world to start working again.
