In her role as CEO of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), Cathy Breden, CMP, CAE, CEM’s primary purpose is to promote the growth, awareness and value of exhibitions and other face-to-face marketing events by producing and delivering research-based knowledge tools.

She is a frequent presenter on the areas of exhibition industry trends and the power of exhibitions in face-to-face marketing. She is currently serving on the Events Industry Council’s Board of Directors, and she is adjunct faculty at Richland College.

Breden is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM). She is a graduate of Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, USA.

Brian Cuthbert

Brian Cuthbert is Group Vice President at Diversified Communications U.S., a global media company with market-leading exhibitions, conferences, digital products and publications. He is responsible for Diversified Communications’ Business Communities division, overseeing broad portfolio of conferences, tradeshows, and digital products. Brands under Mr. Cuthbert’s stewardship include the Institute of Finance & Management (IOFM), Intersolar North America, The Running Event, Running Insight, American Society of Administrative Professionals, the Administrative Professionals Conference and Vinexpo New York.

Previously, Mr. Cuthbert held sales and leadership roles at Greenhaven Partners and Kennedy Information – selling and leading sales teams across a wide variety of industries.


Nancy Drapeau, PRC

Nancy Drapeau, PRC, is a 27-year market research veteran with over 18 years in the business-to-business exhibitions sector. As CEIR’s VP of Research, Ms. Drapeau conducts industry wide studies and reports on current trends in the exhibition industry. She holds a BA in Government from Georgetown University and a Master’s in Advanced European and International Studies from l’Institut Européen des Hautes Études Internationales. She is an AC Nielsen Burke Institute trained focus group moderator. She is a well-respected industry speaker and an active member of the Insights Association (formerly the Marketing Research Association) as well as a past participant of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events® (IAEE) Future Trends Task Force and member of the Event Industry Council’s (EIC) Research Committee.

Rochelle Richardson, CEM

Rochelle Richardson, CEM has spent 25+ years in the hospitality industry in various leadership roles implementing effective strategies to steer companies to unparalleled growth and is currently Senior Vice President of Exhibitions and Events for AVIXA InfoComm USA, AV Executive Conference (AVEC), TIDE and Experience Events.

Rochelle joined AVIXA in March 2019 and leads the growth strategy for the audiovisual and integrated experience association’s largest trade show in North America and executive conference events.

Previously, Rochelle held the position as Vice President at LIGHTFAIR® International (LFI) where she led an award-winning team for more than 12 years. Prior to joining LFI, Rochelle spent six years with NCR-a leading Fortune 500 Company- as the Global Director of the Retail Solutions Division (RSD)- Marketing Services.

Rochelle obtained her CEM Certification in 2011 and is a member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events® (IAEE) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
